http://bugzilla.opensuse.org/show_bug.cgi?id=943063 Bug ID: 943063 Summary: hdparm --read-sector returns success but invalid data Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 13.1 Version: Final Hardware: x86-64 OS: openSUSE 13.1 Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: Other Assignee: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com Reporter: Markus.greger@gmx.net QA Contact: qa-bugs@suse.de Found By: --- Blocker: --- hdparm --read-sector returns data on a defective harddisk where dd would not. However it turns out the data is from my computer (probably memory and thus a possible security issue) and not the disk.
