[Bug 826542] New: Yast does not detect motherboard ethernet
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=826542 https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=826542#c0 Summary: Yast does not detect motherboard ethernet Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE Factory Version: 13.1 Milestone 1 Platform: x86-64 OS/Version: Other Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: YaST2 AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: suse@stanmiller.info QAContact: jsrain@suse.com Found By: --- Blocker: --- User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64; rv:21.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/21.0 I installed openSUSE 13.1 Milestone 2 on my Dell t-3400 system that has an Intel network card on the PCIe bus and a Broadcom Net Extereme BCM 5754 on the motherboard. The Intel card has an Ethernet connection, the Broadcom MB port does not. If I install 12.2 on the Dell both are seen and the tg3 driver is installed. Trying to manually add the card and driver results in the network setup in Yast getting confused and no longer seeing the Intel card as configured or allowing the added card to be configured. Eagerly awaiting a "Need Info" status that includes a hint what I should submit to help folks track this bug down. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Boot 2. Enter Yast Networking 3. See only one Ethernet connection Actual Results: Only saw the Intel Ethernet connection Expected Results: Should have shown mr both Ethernet connections -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

It only found one network interface too... About then I had a bad feeling and went back to check the BIOS settings, the ones folks aren't to be messing with. Yep, I'm not so bright for not checking first but that was the problem. Sorry, I set bug to closed. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
