[Bug 571494] kernel BUG exposed by samba and firefox
http://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=571494 http://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=571494#c33 --- Comment #33 from Suresh Jayaraman <sjayaraman@novell.com> 2010-03-17 05:36:13 UTC --- If you have installed proprietary drivers from other repositories (for e.g. ATI, Nvidia drivers or some such), the kernel will be tainted. Since we don't have access to the source of those proprietary drivers it's hard to debug. If you install packages only from the OSS repo then you would not end up installing proprietary modules. A network capture of CIFS packets should help to figure out what is going wrong. Please refer http://en.opensuse.org/Bugs/Samba#Debugging_cifs_vfs_client (bullet point 2) and attach CIFS packet capture taken during the crash (i.e enable packet capture, reproduce the problem). Also, enable cifs debugging by doing #echo 3 > /proc/fs/cifs/cifsFYI /* Enables additional debugging */ <reproduce> Even if the machine hangs, reboot and attach /var/log/messages file which contains cifs debug output. -- Configure bugmail: http://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
