I think nearly every smtp server supports or requires it nowadays. perl-Net-SMTP-SSL is available in the Contrib directory. Cause you please move it to the distribution and require the package in git-email? Then it'd be at most "Recommends" tag, I think. Of course, perl-Net-SMTP-SSL (or whatever) would be needed beforehand. Could you do submitreq to OBS devel:languages:perl project at first, and ask the project maintainer to push up to FACTORY? Give this bugzilla number as a reference.
