Nothing is being printed. All jobs are processed correctly from the cupsd point of view because none of the "Started filter" or "Started backend" failed. https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=215492 ------- Comment #6 from jsmeix@novell.com 2007-02-13 03:33 MST ------- I can reproduce it (with openSUSE 10.2 final): When I start /opt/gnome/bin/gnome-cups-manager as root and select a working queue ("echo Hellp | lp -d HP_LaserJet_1220" prints fine) and then try to print a test page from gnome-cups-manager for this queue, my HP LaserJet 1220 blinks a few times (i.e. some data arrives at the printer) but nothing is printed but there is also nothing in /var/log/cups/error_log which indicates any error. In contrast to comment #0 I can print the CUPS test-page well via http://localhost:631/printers/HP_LaserJet_1220 To debug, what gnome-cups-manager sends as test page I set up a generic PostScript queue which prints into a file (this needs "FileDevice yes" in cupsd.conf): lpadmin -p testy -v file:/tmp/testy.prn -E \ -P /usr/share/cups/model/Postscript.ppd.gz When print a test page for this queue from gnome-cups-manager I get /tmp/testy.prn which I can display using gs -r60 /tmp/testy.prn But I cannot print this file via my HP_LaserJet_1220 queue neither normally nor with "-o raw", my LaserJet 1220 is a PostScript printer. Something really strange is going on here because my printer prints the CUPS test page lp -d HP_LaserJet_1220 -o raw /usr/share/cups/data/testprint.ps and the YaST test page lp -d HP_LaserJet_1220 -o raw /usr/share/YaST2/data/printer/testpg.ps and the gnome-cups-manager "a4" test page lp -d HP_LaserJet_1220 -o raw \ /opt/gnome/share/gnome-cups-manager/xd2-testpage-a4.eps but it does not print the "letter" test page lp -d HP_LaserJet_1220 -o raw \ /opt/gnome/share/gnome-cups-manager/xd2-testpage-letter.eps here is hangs infinite with slow blinking LED (i.e. it got data and it is processing it but there is no output). It seems something is fishy with the gnome-cups-manager test page. This indicates that it is really the content of the original test pages in gnome-cups-manager which causes the problem.
