https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=681659 https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=681659#c0 Summary: Cannot modify printers using CUPS web interface Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 11.4 Version: Final Platform: i586 OS/Version: openSUSE 11.4 Status: NEW Severity: Major Priority: P5 - None Component: Printing AssignedTo: jsmeix@novell.com ReportedBy: don.raboud@ualberta.ca QAContact: jsmeix@novell.com Found By: --- Blocker: --- User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux x86_64; en-US; rv:1.9.2.10) Gecko/20100914 SUSE/3.6.10-30.2 Firefox/3.6.10 Using CUPS, it does not seem possible to modify printers. Under the "Administration" tab, the "Manage Printers" button opens a new page where I can select one of my two installed network printers. For the selected printer, there are two drop down boxes with maintenance related tasks which default to "Maintenance" and "Administration". Nothing happens when anything is selected with these boxes. It is not apparent at all (to me) what else can be done from this page. In contrast, under the "Administration" tab, when I choose to "Add Printer", a dialog box comes up asking for username and password. I would expect such a box to appear for "Manage Printers" as well - perhaps this is related? Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Access CUPS (http://localhost:631) 2. Administration Tab -> Manage Printers 3. Select "Modify Printer" from right hand drop-down box (or anything else from either of the drop-down boxes). Actual Results: Nothing Happens Expected Results: Ask for authorization and allow appropriate user to modify printers (or other actions). cups-client-1.4.6-6.1.i586 cups-libs-1.4.6-6.1.i586 cups-1.4.6-6.1.i586 python-cups-1.9.52-4.1.i586 libgnomecups-0.2.3-122.1.i586 python-cupshelpers-1.2.5-4.1.i586 - Happens in both Firefox and Konqueror - Printers initially added with YaST. - Not sure if it is relevant, but I only have network printers which are accessed through a VPN. Behavior occurs whether or not the VPN connection is open. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
