[Bug 964704] New: Installation impossible without ACPI=off on HP 355 G2 J0Y61EA; shutdown problems but with ACPI=off
http://bugzilla.opensuse.org/show_bug.cgi?id=964704 Bug ID: 964704 Summary: Installation impossible without ACPI=off on HP 355 G2 J0Y61EA; shutdown problems but with ACPI=off Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE Distribution Version: 13.2 Hardware: HP OS: openSUSE 13.1 Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: Installation Assignee: yast2-maintainers@suse.de Reporter: peterm.eller@yahoo.de QA Contact: jsrain@suse.com Found By: --- Blocker: --- User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux i686; rv:43.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/43.0 Build Identifier: HP 355 G2 J0Y61EA: Installation of 13.1 impossible without ACPI=off. But with ACPI=off all shutdown options accept re-boot won't work correctly, systems hangs (Herunterfahren, Ruhezustand, Tiefschlaf). I assume this is caused by ACPI because I had exactly the same problem with another HP notebook some time ago. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Install version 13.1 on a HP 355 G2 J0Y61EA with AMD A4-6210 Quad-Core 2. Boot with ACPI=off 3. Don't use Re-Boot but the other 3 options Actual Results: system hangs Expected Results: system should shutdown, freeze (Ruhezustand) or deep freeze (Tiefschlaf) What is the difference between Product Version and Operating Version? I choose 13.1 and not 13.2 because with 13.2 there were a lot more problems. I have another (microcode) bug I report separately. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.
