[Bug 482399] New: xrdp does not return a KDE4 desktop
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=482399 Summary: xrdp does not return a KDE4 desktop Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 11.2 Version: Alpha 0 Platform: i586 OS/Version: Other Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: X11 Applications AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: swerdna@opensuse-forums.org QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: --- User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.9.0.6) Gecko/2009012700 SUSE/3.0.6-2.11 Firefox/3.0.6 Operating system: openSUSE 11.2 alpha with KDE4 installed as Desktop. When running xrdp on openSUSE 11.2 as server and connecting by rdesktop from a client machine running openSUSE 11.1 and selecting the Desktop KDE4.2 from the xrdp login panel, the Xwindow that starts in the client is not KDE4.2 window. Instead it is a black screen with an inset bearing the following sentence: "KDE seems to be already running on this display." If I reconnect and select the other Desktop options (Terminal, IceWM or TWM) then all works well. The relevant RPMs are: xorg-x11-server-rdp-7.3.99-4.4, xrdp-0.4.1-29.1, xorg-x11-server-dmx-7.3.99-16.2 and 'uname -r' returns 2.6.29-rc6-git1-2-pae Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. 2. 3. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

But in openSUSE 11.1 the behaviour is fine for serving a KDE4 Desktop if I revert to the standard oss repository for the xrdp RPMs. So maybe the problem is in the factory RPMs. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
