[Bug 1096066] Cannot install booting (grub) into MBR of "/dev/sda"

http://bugzilla.suse.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1096066 http://bugzilla.suse.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1096066#c6 Josef Reidinger <jreidinger@suse.com> changed: What |Removed |Added ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Flags|needinfo?(jreidinger@suse.c | |om) | --- Comment #6 from Josef Reidinger <jreidinger@suse.com> --- Yes, it is as Andrei write, now MBR is written to disk which contain /boot. If /boot is on logical device like LVM or MD raid that is spread over multiple disks, it will write to each of that disk. Well, now back to original task Neil would like to do. It can be achieved if user click on "Booting" to get full blown bootloader configuration and here select "Boot from Custom" and there write "/dev/sdb". Reason for this change is to make behavior more user friendly for newbies and unified for experts. So for experts if they want to install to various non-standard location "Boot from Custom" is answer. Trick with changing disk order I found a bit too confusing. I hope it answers question and also provide guidance how to achieve what you want. Josef -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.
