[Bug 443822] New: iwl3945: associating works but dhclient fails
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=443822 Summary: iwl3945: associating works but dhclient fails Product: openSUSE 11.1 Version: Factory Platform: Other OS/Version: Other Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: Basesystem AssignedTo: hschaa@novell.com ReportedBy: thoenig@novell.com QAContact: qa@suse.de CC: hmacht@novell.com, tambet@novell.com Found By: --- iwl3945: associating works but dhclient fails This funny thing happens to me 9 out of 10 times when trying to connect to my wireless network at home. That is, only when running on battery. IIRC this only happens since Holger fixed bug 435393, which enables power management for the iwl driver family when running on battery. As soon as I manually intervene by running $ echo 0 > /sys/bus/pci/drivers/iwl3945/0000\:03\:00.0/power_level everything works smooth. But as long as power_level is set to 5, I have hard times connecting to my network. I'm clueless wrt to the correct assignee. I'll pick Helmut for now as it helps whenever I tweak the driver using sysfs, but probably it's something else which we want to fix (force powersave off while associating? I really don't know). -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

However, power management is implemented in firmware for iwl3945. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
