[Bug 852665] New: Intel driver regression: Emacs cursor too small
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=852665 https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=852665#c0 Summary: Intel driver regression: Emacs cursor too small Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 13.1 Version: Final Platform: x86-64 OS/Version: openSUSE 13.1 Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: X.Org AssignedTo: bnc-team-xorg-bugs@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: bernd.paysan@gmx.de QAContact: xorg-maintainer-bugs@forge.provo.novell.com Found By: --- Blocker: --- Created an attachment (id=569375) --> (http://bugzilla.novell.com/attachment.cgi?id=569375) The "," after "Version 3" is highlighted by the standard red cursor. User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/31.0.1650.11 Safari/537.36 SUSE/31.0.1650.11 After updating the Xorg Intel driver to 2.99.906.4-1, the active (blinking) cursor in GNU Emacs is only as high as the character it highlights. It completely disappears when it's on space, but it is perfectly ok when it's on a line with e.g. east Asian fonts (I suppose Emacs uses a different rendering path for those lines). Changing the cursor shape to the vertical bar shows even more rendering errors. It is so far the only program I've seen that shows rendering errors, but this is certainly a very important program! Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Update Intel driver 2. Start Emacs 3. Type in something Actual Results: Cursor is small and disappears totally when on space Expected Results: Cursor as high as the line and as wide as the character grid, as usual This is a regression, going back to the original driver that is on the DVD ISO fixes the problem; but then, the original driver was updated for reasons. This is on a Core i7 Ivy Bridge Duo. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
