This is very suboptimal in a working environment, like right before giving a presentation. What laptop is this? 2. Does it do a suspend to ram (the fast one) or a suspend to disk (the slow one)? 3. What have you set in the gnome-power-manager preferences regarding "when battery power iscritically low" 4. Do you have autosuspend activated? (Slider "Put computer to sleep when inactive for:...") 4. lshal output directly before plugging the power cord (yes, I know that can be quite complicated without the problem being reproducible every time) 5. lshal out after waking up. -- Configure bugmail: http://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

This is a Lenovo T61p 2. it tries to suspend to ram 3. I use KDE (4.2.3) not gnome. However, the battery is fully charged when this happens. 4. The KDE setting for battery actions is: When battery remaining is critical: Suspend to Ram You have two (4). ;-) I'll supply lshal with it: - plugged in - unplugged as attachments. -- Configure bugmail: http://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

However, I've found a "formula" that works every time. 1. leaving laptop plugged in, leave it alone for a while. the screensaver will kick in. 2. wait 3. unplug computer. Do not unlock screen first! If I do it this way, and I wait long enough (typically hours, but sometimes much less time than that - minutes or even seconds), it suspends every time. Maybe 1 in 10 suspends hoses my wireless card (iwl 4965). This has logic bug written all over it, but so far it *only* happens when the screensaver is kicked in. It's getting kind of annoying, and has happened once or twice in a business context - having to explain that your laptop sometimes suspends itself... -- Configure bugmail: http://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

However, if the computer has been "idle" for a while (as in, I have not been in front of it) and I unplug it (to move from one physical location to another), when it is unplugged it tries to suspend. However, it doesn't update the idle status when the cable is unplugged as it should. I will have a look at the code, but this can take some time. If you like to confirm my suspicion, move the mouse before unplugging the cable, the system shouldn't suspend. -- Configure bugmail: http://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
