Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. make a tempfile (for example /tmp/testfile) 2. make a rule for this file under /etc/permissions.d/testfile: /tmp/testfile root:users 0070 3. run SuSEconfig Actual Results: you see that the script detect the difference: /tmp/testfile should be root:users 0070. it works here: setting /var/log/btmp to root:root 0600. (wrong owner/group root:utmp) setting /tmp/testfile to root:root 0600. (wrong permissions 0644)
what's the setting of CHECK_PERMISSIONS in /etc/sysconfig/security. "set" means change the permissions, "warn" means warn only.
It is "set". I already find a solution: need to call directly the permission module ("SuSEconfig --module permissions").
