[Bug 477952] New: [KDE:KDE4:Factory:Desktop] konsole re-execs command if run with "-e /some/command"
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=477952 Summary: [KDE:KDE4:Factory:Desktop] konsole re-execs command if run with "-e /some/command" Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE.org Version: unspecified Platform: Other OS/Version: Other Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: 3rd party software AssignedTo: dmueller@novell.com ReportedBy: jnelson-suse@jamponi.net QAContact: opensuse-communityscreening@forge.provo.novell.com Found By: --- Basically, unlike KDE 3.5's konsole (or any other tabbing console), the konsole in KDE 4.X (4.2 tested, up-to-date as of today from the above repo), re-runs the "-e" command with each new tab. What's worse, if that command exits the konsole then behaves strangely. It should not do either of these things. How to reproduce: Make a new "link to application". The command (application tab) should be ssh localhost (for example). Under Advanced Options (Application tab again), click "run in terminal". If you then run this application (click it), it will try to ssh localhost as expected. Now, try to make a new tab. The new tab *also* tries to ssh localhost. If you are using KDE 3.5 at the time it will NOT but KDE 4.2 *will*. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

In the future, if the Factory problem/enhancement your are addressing is not related to packaging or openSUSE branding then please report upstream to http://bugs.kde.org. However, the behavior is not correct. Will Novell be devoting any resources to fixing issues that are not packaging issues? Surely Novell has interest in fixing bugs outside of that realm! -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

The capacity of the Novell team is limited, if there is a clean patch upstream suggest merging that to the KDE4:STABLE series (4.1.3), it will trickle down into KDE4:Factory anyways so no use applying that patch there. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
