s2ram -f seems to work just fine for suspend from run-level 5.
please try also from a text console. Just X is not enough. I'd guess that you need s2ram -f -a3 from the text console to make it work. (In reply to comment #2)
Additionally, do you have any insight into why the following in /etc/pm/config doesn't seem to do anything?
SUSPEND_MODULES="ipw3945" S2RAM_OPTS="-f"
-rwxr-xr-x 1 root root 42 2007-04-17 19:40 /etc/pm/config
The documentation is outdated. You now need to put this into a file in /etc/pm/config.d/ (just "mv /etc/pm/config /etc/pm/config.d/" should do) I will address this issue with documentation (and updating from 10.2) ASAP, but it might take until "after SP1". -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.

From the console: s2ram -f: goes to sleep, but returns with black screen. Switching to F7 then back to F1 fixes all. s2ram -f -a 3: works perfectly.
From KDE: s2ram -f -a 3: also works perfectly.
