[Bug 725194] New: Libre Office 3.4.2 has issue with editing text boxes
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=725194 https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=725194#c0 Summary: Libre Office 3.4.2 has issue with editing text boxes Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 11.4 Version: Final Platform: All OS/Version: openSUSE 11.4 Status: NEW Severity: Major Priority: P5 - None Component: OpenOffice.org AssignedTo: bnc-team-ooo@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: malte.gell@gmx.de QAContact: cwei@suse.com Found By: --- Blocker: --- Created an attachment (id=457596) --> (http://bugzilla.novell.com/attachment.cgi?id=457596) Test document that triggers the described bug User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64; rv:7.0.1) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/7.0.1 First: Libre Office does not have its own entry in the component list of Bugzilla, thus I used OpenOffice.org to create this bug entry. When opening a document with a text box in Libre Office 3.4.2 the content of the text box cannot be edited. The content of the textbox is not locked. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: Open a document with Libre Office 3.4.2 that contains a textbox. The content cannot be edited. Actual Results: Textbox content cannot be edited Expected Results: The textbox should be editable I have added the Open Document file that triggers this behaviour on my machine. You will not be able to edit the address text box on the top left with Libre Office 3.4.2. Since using text boxes is a crucial task of word processing I regard this bug a major break. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

Would Cedric take a look what happened there? In the created templates, you can't enter the address of the receiver or of the sender, because you can't enter the corresponding box. This also happens with openSuse 12.1. I had to downgrade to LibreOffice 3.3.4 to be able to write letters again. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

That's not too nice, but at least a workaround. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

Try pressing F2 after selecting the text box - this should put it into edit mode. That's not too nice, but at least a workaround.
Thank's for the workaround. With that I can use the cursor keys for moving inside the box and edit it. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

If 3.5 fixes it and if it will be available as online update for openSuse 12.4 at some time, it's ok. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
