https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=660870 https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=660870#c0 Summary: mouse not functional in virtual console of KVM guest Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 11.4 Version: Milestone 5 of 6 Platform: Other OS/Version: SuSE Other Status: NEW Severity: Major Priority: P5 - None Component: Other AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: mwenzel@novell.com QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: Other Blocker: --- After I install and reboot a SLES11SP1 x86_64 guest running under kvm, the mouse fails to function in the virtual console viewer. Murlin,
After clicking in the viewer window, does pressing 'Ctrl-Alt' capture the mouse in the viewer correctly?
No, I can click in the viewer and the window reports that the kbd/mouse have been captured, "Ctrl-Alt to release" but the mouse is not functional in the guest. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=660870 https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=660870#c4 --- Comment #4 from Murlin Wenzel <mwenzel@novell.com> 2011-01-06 16:24:28 UTC --- A couple of data points 1. The mouse works fine during guest install. It disappears after video probe at end of SLE11 guest install 2. When you click 'ok' for video detection, you lose control over the rest of the install at that point. The clone for autoyast and finish options behave like they have already been clicked. 3. I tried the same guest on os11.4 Xen and the mouse still worked. There are other issues there though. 4. I went back to os11.3 and did the same tests. The guest install worked ok, and the mouse continued to function on KVM. I then updated to latest bits from Virtualization repository. When I rebooted the system and restarted the same guest, the mouse would not function. It looks like something changed in KVM or virt-viewer after os11.3 -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

What KVM and virt-manager versions do you have installed? Also please list the versions everything 'vnc' installed. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

KVM 0.13.0-3.1 virt-manager 0.8.5-3.1 I'm not sure what you mean by 'everything vnc' This is all from os11.4 ms5 -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

KVM 0.13.0-3.1 virt-manager 0.8.5-3.1

rpm -qa | grep vnc The virt-manager and virt-viewer viewers are nearly identical and both rely heavily on python-gtk-vnc. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
