https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=213071 ------- Comment #3 from largeteau.kuehl@freenet.de 2006-10-22 10:46 MST ------- If the pc starts form power off modus (power switched of or after normal shut down) Grub is statring well and Suse can be choosen. System start seems to proceed until runlevel 5 and than in runlevel 5 the pc freezes and does not react any more. Only solution is to switch power off. If I start Suse after a reboot (comming from Windows or Linux) every thing works well and Linux Suse is running correctly. Until yesterday I have done all updates which have been availible but they do not solve the problem. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.

https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=213071 ------- Comment #4 from chrubis@novell.com 2006-10-27 11:29 MST ------- I'm still missing where is the problem. Please try to boot Suse from poweroff state. And then after grub when suse is booting hit ESC key to disable splash screen. Then you will see boot messages. Then try to grab a picture via digital camera at the point when the system hangs or just write down some last lines. https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=213071 ------- Comment #5 from largeteau.kuehl@freenet.de 2006-10-29 13:43 MST ------- As I said PC hangs during start in runlevel 5. The point is that I have the impression that screen and process are not linked in real time as the point where the boot messages are hanging changes: sometimes it hangs after: Starting HAL daemon done or Starting irq balance done or Starting CRON daemon done the farest was: starting firewall.... What other kinde of information could be helpfull? https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=213071 ------- Comment #7 from largeteau.kuehl@freenet.de 2006-11-01 01:43 MST ------- I have updated BIOS with Version F6E FSC 27.12.2005 from Fujitsu support page, but this did not help. Settings in BIOS are optimised default. I do not understand how BIOS could be the problem as Linux works perfectly well (only after reboot).
