[Bug 795802] New: VirtualBox + Ubuntu fails to compile in random locations
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=795802 https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=795802#c0 Summary: VirtualBox + Ubuntu fails to compile in random locations Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 12.2 Version: Final Platform: x86-64 OS/Version: openSUSE 12.2 Status: NEW Severity: Critical Priority: P5 - None Component: Other AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: mpapis@gmail.com QAContact: qa-bugs@suse.de Found By: --- Blocker: --- User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64; rv:17.0) Gecko/17.0 Firefox/17.0 After updating host from 4.1.18-1.3.1 to 4.1.22-1.6.1 I was unable to compile ruby and openssl, did not try a lot other packages but found very similar report http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=651012 So currently on 4.1.18-1.3.1 I get the compilation errors sometimes, it's hard to reproduce, but with 4.1.22-1.6.1 and 4.2.4-64.1 (from http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/Virtualization:/VirtualBox_backpor...) I get the errors almost always. Additionally on 4.2.4-64.1 the virtual machine also dies, I need to start it again to investigate. I have tried with both 32 and 64 bit guest ubuntu and both fail the same. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: sudo zypper dup git clone git://github.com/mpapis/rvm-binary.git cd rvm-binary # required ruby 1.9.3 - ex.: rvm use 1.9.3 --install bundle install RUBY_VERSIONS="ruby-1.9.3-p286" vagrant up ubuntu_1204_32bit_precise Actual Results: the build fails Expected Results: the build to work I was able to reproduce the steps manually without using provisioning just opened ubuntu image, updated it and tried to install ruby - got exactly the same (random) error with compilation. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64; rv:17.0) Gecko/17.0 Firefox/17.0
After updating host from 4.1.18-1.3.1 to 4.1.22-1.6.1 I was unable to compile ruby and openssl
Hi,Michal. The compilation executed in guest-ubuntu or host-opensuse?
Steps to Reproduce: sudo zypper dup git clone git://github.com/mpapis/rvm-binary.git cd rvm-binary # required ruby 1.9.3 - ex.: rvm use 1.9.3 --install bundle install RUBY_VERSIONS="ruby-1.9.3-p286" vagrant up ubuntu_1204_32bit_precise
Please atache your compilation log.
I was able to reproduce the steps manually without using provisioning just opened ubuntu image, updated it and tried to install ruby - got exactly the same (random) error with compilation.
