[Bug 489666] New: lack of 32bit version of bluez-alsa libraries and bluetooth headset with skype
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=489666 Summary: lack of 32bit version of bluez-alsa libraries and bluetooth headset with skype Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 11.1 Version: Final Platform: x86-64 OS/Version: openSUSE 11.1 Status: NEW Severity: Major Priority: P5 - None Component: Mobile Devices AssignedTo: zoz@novell.com ReportedBy: diego.ercolani@gmail.com QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: --- User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux x86_64; it; rv:1.9.0.7) Gecko/2009022800 SUSE/3.0.7-1.1.6 Firefox/3.0.7 I followed instruction found in internet abotu use of a bluetooth headset with opensuse to use it with skype. 1st thing to notice is that we don't have a correct howto at all 2nd problably there are some issues related to bluez utilities used to connect to audio devices 3rd even if bluetooth device wold be set up correctly, there is a package lack in opensuse 11.1 x86-64 to use with skype. For the last issue I have a workaround: In fact, skype (version 2.0.0.72) is compiled only on 32bit platform while bluez-alsa and libbluetooth3 are compiled only in x86-64 flavour. for this lack I did a "simple workaround", I downloaded: bluez-alsa-4.22-6.1.1.i586.rpm and libbluetooth3-4.22-6.1.1.i586.rpm and converted to cpio, then extracted to a temporary directory: as root: wget http://download.opensuse.org/update/11.1/rpm/i586/{libcurl-devel-7.19.0-11.2.2.i586.rpm,bluez-alsa-4.22-6.1.1.i586.rpm} mkdir tmp cd tmp rpm2cpio ../bluez-alsa-4.22-6.1.1.i586.rpm | cpio -id rpm2cpio ../libbluetooth3-4.22-6.1.1.i586.rpm | cpio -id find . -type d -exec chmod a+rx '{}' ';' cp -a usr / Reproducible: Always -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
