Digging deeper I could see that the actual mount operation in autofs isnt working so I tested the mount manually and indeed it failed. marc@thor:/etc> sudo mkdir /mnt/tmp marc@thor:/etc> sudo mount -t cifs -o username=myuser,password=mypassword,nounix //192.168.1.100/DATA/Music /mnt/tmp Tumbleweed Mount error(22): invalid argument Leap 42.3 ...works The actual autofs-config has more options, but I've stripped it down for the test mount --version Leap 42.3 -> 2.29.2 Tumbleweed -> 2.30.1 Unfortunately it doesnt tell me which argument it doesnt like.
