http://bugzilla.opensuse.org/show_bug.cgi?id=906009
Bug ID: 906009
Summary: lxde menu broken with package ggz-client-libs
installed
Classification: openSUSE
Product: openSUSE Distribution
Version: 13.2
Hardware: PC
OS: openSUSE 13.2
Status: NEW
Severity: Normal
Priority: P5 - None
Component: LXDE
Assignee: andrea@opensuse.org
Reporter: comes@naic.edu

Using LXDE, if the package ggz-client-libs is installed the menu does not show
all the entries.
Here are the steps to reproduce the bug:
Install at least one package that will appear under the Games menu (iagno,
wine, etc). Install ggz-client-libs. Logout from lxde. Login on the console and
remove the directory $HOME/.cache/menu. Now login in lxde as the user of whom
you removed the menu cache. The menu now will show the Accessory entries, the
(empty) Games entry and nothing else.
Looking at the just recreated menu cache file in $HOME/.cache/menu there are
these lines of text:
+Games
Games
Games and amusements
applications-games
lxde-game.directory
2
+GGZ
GGZ Gaming Zone

--- Comment #2 from Giacomo Comes
The original version of the file
/etc/xdg/menus/ggz.menu
was "DTD Menu 0.8" (*all* other files had "DTD Menu 1.0").
I edited the header of this file (as root) to:
<!DOCTYPE Menu PUBLIC "-//freedesktop//DTD Menu 1.0//EN" "http://www.freedesktop.org/standards/menu-spec/1.0/menu.dtd">
This fix does not work for me. After the change to the file and deleting the cache, the menu is still broken. The same on a fresh installation: installed ggz-client-libs, edited /etc/xdg/menus/ggz.menu then first login -> broken lxde menu. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.
