https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=736963 https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=736963#c0 Summary: YaST2 Printer Driver search generates nothing. Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 12.1 Version: Final Platform: 32bit OS/Version: SuSE Other Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: YaST2 AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: workingwriter@gmail.com QAContact: jsrain@suse.com Found By: --- Blocker: --- User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux i686; rv:8.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/8.0 Had a series of issues installing an Epson wireless printer (Workforce 610) on openSUSE 12.1. I got it working, but I am troubled that the driver search simply doesn't work on this system. When asking to Add or Edit a printer, it takes several seconds for the "Driver Information" progress bar to reach 1%, then almost immediately completes. The Add/Edit dialog asks for your model number. If you enter it, the No Matching Driver message appears. Changing the search string, clicking Find More. An instantaneous "search" finds nothing. Then the search string displays "any model." Click Search For ... same (non)result. Eventually, uninstalling/reinstalling the Gutenprint driver package allowed YaST to identify that driver (which works). But adding another printer displays the same issues. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Open YaST Printer module 2. Add printer 3. Run Connection Wizard (or not, doesn't really matter) 4. Enter 'Epson' in the Find and Assign a Driver search box. 5. Click Search For. Actual Results: Search result displays: "No matching driver found. Change the search string or try Find More." Tried all of the above, no change. Expected Results: A list of driver(s) to choose from. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
