[Bug 471281] New: Sansa Fuze shows added memory but cannot write to it
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=471281 Summary: Sansa Fuze shows added memory but cannot write to it Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 11.1 Version: Final Platform: x86-64 OS/Version: openSUSE 11.1 Status: NEW Severity: Major Priority: P5 - None Component: Banshee AssignedTo: abockover@novell.com ReportedBy: christian.jaeger@rub.de QAContact: abockover@novell.com Found By: --- User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; de; rv:1.8.1.9) Gecko/20071101 SUSE/2.0.0.9-2.1 Firefox/2.0.0.9 Hello, I use a Sansa Fuze 8GB player + a 8GB microSD card. In MTP mode, the Sansa shows the extended memory but just silenty refuses to write to it. The storage indicator bar shows the Sansa to be exactly half-filled. Now, when I drag any more songs to the Sansa, nothing happens. Not even an error message. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Take a Sansa Fuze with add-on memory (SD card) set to MTP mode 2. Plug it in 3. Try to use all the Sansa's memory (add-on also) to store songs Actual Results: File transfer stops after the internal memory is filled, leaving the add-on memory blank. Expected Results: File transfer should have been completed and only stopped when internal and add-on memory have been fully used. The Sansa Fuze tends to give random errors in MTP mode, failing to transfer some songs with mtp-descriptor errors. This doesn't occur in connection with this specific bug though -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=471281 User christian.jaeger@rub.de added comment https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=471281#c1 --- Comment #1 from Christian Jäger <christian.jaeger@rub.de> 2009-01-31 03:00:47 MST --- CORRECTION: It DOES show mpt-descriptor errors after the attempt to transfer. For example I got 512 errors now which all read: "LIBMTP_Send_Track_From_File_Descriptor(): subcall to LIBMTP_Send_File_From_File_Descriptor failed" This is the same error message that I get occasionally for random MP3 files, but never in a row like this. The internal memory is a hard barrier; every file I try to transfer after it has been used up triggers an error. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
