[Bug 431542] automounter seems broken

"rpcbind" is required for IPv6 RPC services. I was under the impression that 11.1 and SLE11 would have rpcbind instead of portmap. Maybe it is optional??? Could you please check which you have installed and if you have portmap, install rpcbind and try again? The observation in comment #4 do have some validity. They don't apply to statd but could apply to gssd and idmapd if they are needed. They will currently not be started if no NFS filesystems are listed in /etc/fstab. This needs to be fixed but it is not yet clear what the best approach would be. Starting them automatically like statd would be nice but might be a larger change than we would like. Another solution would be to have two init.d scripts. Once which is always enabled and mounts anything that is found in fstab. Another which needs to be explicitly enabled and just starts idmapd and/or gssd based on /etc/sysconfig/nfs settings. I'll try to get this sorted by the next -beta. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
