Install opensuse11.0 with default gnome desktop environment; 2. After installation, install some kde applications with yast2 or zypper; 3. (you can probably drag and drop them to gedit) Find the Icon= line, and look at the icon. Can you find this icon under /usr/share/icons? So the issue here is that hicolor from /opt/kde3/share is not merged with hicolor from /usr/share.
