[Bug 1001670] New: Domain users are not listed on gdm for around 1-2 minutes after gdm loads up
http://bugzilla.opensuse.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1001670 Bug ID: 1001670 Summary: Domain users are not listed on gdm for around 1-2 minutes after gdm loads up Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE Distribution Version: Leap 42.1 Hardware: Other OS: Other Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: GNOME Assignee: bnc-team-gnome@forge.provo.novell.com Reporter: jamesrstocker@gmail.com QA Contact: qa-bugs@suse.de Found By: --- Blocker: --- If you connect a machine to a domain, then log in as a user on the machine. Then reboot. When gdm comes back up that user isn't listed on the list of users on gdm, if you wait a few minutes, and I believe you need to switch to a ttl and back to gdm, the user will appear. The workaround for this is to run: getent passwd DOMAIN\\username Then copy that and put it in the /etc/passwd file. That user is then permanently listed on the login screen. However, if you then remove a user (delete their home folder and remove the user from /etc/passwd) the user is still listed. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.
