[Bug 374554] New: Out-of-date GTK2 library makes Firefox 3 crash on printing
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=374554 Summary: Out-of-date GTK2 library makes Firefox 3 crash on printing Product: openSUSE 10.2 Version: Final Platform: i586 OS/Version: openSUSE 10.2 Status: NEW Severity: Major Priority: P5 - None Component: GNOME AssignedTo: bnc-team-gnome@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: dholbert@mozilla.com QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: --- openSUSE 10.2's latest GTK2 package, gtk2-2.10.6-24.2, has a bug which makes Firefox 3 crash when bringing up the GTK Print dialog. This bug was also present in a Fedora Core 6 base install, but can be fixed there by updating to GTK2 v2.10.8-1 (or later - they actually have 2.10.13-1 as their latest version). So, this should also be fixable in openSUSE by providing a GTK2 update to version 2.10.8 or later. Any news about this bug?
The bug is still present on Firefox 3.0 release and OpenSuSE 10.2
IIUC the solution is to upgrade to openSUSE 10.3. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

I really hope Novell will publish an update for gtk2, upgrading to 10.3 is very hard for me, I have a whole lot of application installed on my workstation. Maybe I will try to generate a new package by myself. Whatever SuSE Linux version you're using is bound to become obsolete some day. I upgraded to openSUSE 11.0 this weekend, went like a breeze, and didn't touch the apps I installed straight from their original makers without going through Novell/SuSE for them. I used cd-less install http://en.opensuse.org/Installation_without_CD -- Of course, YMMV. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

That is not the correct bug in your case. You probably should comment on bug 331725 which is a crash bug with FF3 on 10.3 -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
