[Bug 342107] New: xosview: wrong disk i/ o values because of wrong sector size
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=342107 Summary: xosview: wrong disk i/o values because of wrong sector size Product: openSUSE 10.3 Version: Final Platform: x86 OS/Version: openSUSE 10.3 Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: Other AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: o.b.klein@primacom.net QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: Customer Hi, I've noticed bad disk i/o values when doing something on my 3ware raid ctrl. With debugging enabled xosview shows a sector size of 128 for the raid disk. With 512 the displayed values seems to be correct. /sys/block/sdX/queue/max_hw_sectors_kb = 128 /sys/block/sdX/queue/max_sectors_kb = 128 The raid is configured as raid 0, stripe size 64kb. I cannot say if the values in /sys/.. are wrong (kernel driver) or if the values are mis-interpreted (xosview). In 10.2 I didn't have the problem. This is what the kernel reports and IMHO these are the correct one. What does stat -c '%o %B' /dev/sdX reports for your raid disk. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
