[Bug 230763] New: nmh-1.1-220: mhl crashes with signal 11 if used as a filter by repl
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=230763 Summary: nmh-1.1-220: mhl crashes with signal 11 if used as a filter by repl Product: openSUSE 10.2 Version: Final Platform: x86-64 OS/Version: SuSE Other Status: NEW Severity: Minor Priority: P5 - None Component: Basesystem AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: ken@turnkey.com.au QAContact: qa@suse.de When invoked as a filter by repl, mhl (the formatting program that is used to display mail in NMH when the command show is executed, and also used by repl to quote headers and body in the reply) crashes with signal 11 (SEGV), causing the repl to fail. It does not happen when mhl is invoked by show to format viewed messages. This seems to be independent of the mail being replied to and also independent of the reply filter being used. In the strace output attached, the -format argument to repl causes mhl to use the stock supplied mhl.reply filter. This problem does not happen with mhl from nhm 1.2 which I compiled from the upstream distribution. 1.2 has been out since December 2005. I see there is no way of attaching a file to this bug report. I'll quote the last few lines of the strace output. Please contact me if you need the full strace output or more details. Updated to nmh-1.2 for 10.3.
Reinhard: Did the original problem get reproduced and verified as fixed in 10.3? I ask as I'm seeing this in 10.3 (nmh-1.2-49). Any repl that invokes mhl fails with "mhl: signal 11". This is on a i586 system rather than x86_64 of the original bug. Only way to reply is 'repl -noformat' which is less than convenient. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
