The keys fn+F6 and fn+f7 change the brightness correctly. But if I hibernate my laptop and then restart it the brightness if set to be full and I can not change it neither using fn+F6 and fn+f7 nor using the powersave applet. I use also the ial package on my system. I have still a strange problem when I hibernate my laptop by closing it (not using power manager applet). Maybee this will be helpfull. After instalation of opensuse 10.13 the module toshiba-acpi was not added automaticaly - I have added it manualy. After hibernation - the brightness is t still maximal but I can change it. Fortunately I can change it also after hibernate by closing my laptop. IMO this is not worth looking at for 11.0. The video driver is rather broken on Toshiba's until .28. I intend to backport the backlight stuff to .27 soon, then it would be great if this can be retested. Unfortunatley the next 11.1 Alpha2 will still be .26 kernel based. So pls give this is a try with 11.1 Alpha3. The patches are too big to backport to 11.0.
