[Bug 254034] New: bcm43xx cards added to YaST as wired card
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=254034 Summary: bcm43xx cards added to YaST as wired card Product: openSUSE 10.2 Version: Final Platform: 32bit OS/Version: Other Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: Network AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: martin.schlander@gmail.com QAContact: qa@suse.de I have a bcm4306 pcmcia wireless card. After getting the proprietary firmware it works pretty well with (K)NetworkManager. But in YaST NIC-module it's added as a wired card, which means I don't get the wireless-dialog - and thus can't configure ssid, encryption etc., with YaST. I've seen the same thing on a different box, with an onboard bcm43xx. It's not a huge issue, since most people will probably use NM anyway, and you can re-add the card manually to YaST and make it a wireless. But would be nice to have it fixed for 10.3. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.
