[Bug 1155688] New: openh264 needs a later flatpak version
http://bugzilla.opensuse.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1155688 Bug ID: 1155688 Summary: openh264 needs a later flatpak version Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE Distribution Version: Leap 15.1 Hardware: All OS: Other Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: Other Assignee: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com Reporter: tech4patton@gmail.com QA Contact: qa-bugs@suse.de Found By: --- Blocker: --- Current version in repo is 1.2.3 which is considered the "old stable". Latest version of that branch is 1.2.5 which is needed to support new features. https://github.com/flatpak/flatpak/releases/tag/1.2.5 The main feature is the support for allowing the use of extra_data for runtimes (as opposed to only for apps) which is used by the new org.freedesktop.Platform.openh264 extension. Here is what happens when I update flatpak apps ----------------------------------------------------------------------

It's a minor version change after all and without this update, some packages will not work correctly. I'm not criticizing but is there any reason why this hasn't been done yet? Is there something I can do to help out? -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.

I'm afraid due to the update policy of Leap, we only provide bugfix updates, not new features for Leap distributions. If you need to install a newer flatpak and can't wait for Leap 15.2, you can try one of the community (unofficial, unsupported) packages in https://software.opensuse.org/package/flatpak . For example, if you want to try the home:Takomora packages, you can run: sudo zypper ar obs://home:Takomora home_Takomora sudo zypper up --allow-vendor-change flatpak Hope that helps. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.

I can certainly understand that and totally support that. That's why I run Leap! But wouldn't this be a bugfix? Without this minor revision update some flatpak packages don't actually work. Let me know your thoughts and I won't reopen this again if you close it. :) I can use a community repo if needed. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.
