Sorry for the noise, taking the bug back.
I just learned that it's common practice in TW to ship old versions of a package if the new version does not build. So one may have to decide whether to keep a package and not to update the system or update by removing it.
It sometimes happens. The factory maintainers rushed to switch the default compiler to gcc 14, knowing that it caused issues for some packages needing boost.
