https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=218115 ------- Comment #2 from ducalen@sympatico.ca 2006-11-03 19:06 MST ------- It does not matter how many times I try to deselect NoDDC and save the settings. There will always be two NoDDC lines in xorg.conf. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.

https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=218115 ------- Comment #4 from ms@novell.com 2006-11-06 02:59 MST ------- I'm sorry but I cannot reproduce this problem. I played around with the option select/deselect with saving in between and it works as it should. If I enter the option twice in my xorg.conf run sax and deselect plus save it both option entries are gone. So I'm sorry the information from comment #3 is still appreciated Thanks -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=218115 ------- Comment #5 from ducalen@sympatico.ca 2006-11-06 20:26 MST ------- sax2 -r produces the following console output: SaX: initializing please wait... SaX: your current configuration will not be read in SaX: no X-Server is running SaX: will start own server if needed SPP: prepare device [0] profile: Depth24 SPP: prepare device [0] profile: NoDDC SPP: prepare device [0] profile: Depth16 SPP: including prepared profile(s)... SaX: startup Now the interesting part. TEST 1: Run sax2 -r, accept the proposed configuration and save it; only one "Option NoDDC" line appears in xorg.conf (see xorg.conf.1 and SaX.log.1). TEST 2: Run sax2 -r, choose "Change Configuration", save and exit without making any changes; no "Option NoDDC" lines appear in xorg.conf (see xorg.conf.2 and SaX.log.2). TEST 3: Run sax2 -r, choose "Change Configuration", make no changes other than selecting "Activate 3D Acceleration", save an exit; two "Option NoDDC" lines appear in xorg.conf (see xorg.conf.3 and SaX.log.3). Now getting back to running Sax from within KDE... If I activate 3D Acceleration, two "Option NoDDC" lines appear in xorg.conf regardless of what I select in graphics card settings. And conversely, if I deactivate 3D Acceleration, no "Option NoDDC" lines appear in xorg.conf regardless of what I select in graphics card settings. Hope this helps. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.

https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=218115 ms@novell.com changed: What |Removed |Added ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Status|ASSIGNED |RESOLVED Resolution| |FIXED ------- Comment #7 from ms@novell.com 2006-11-07 06:26 MST ------- I think I found the bug: 1) libsax: While calling enable3D() and/or disable3D() the library will add and/or remove entries from the Driver map. Which it should do only if the 2D driver is different from the 3D driver. This is because only in that case the driver maps may differ. In case of Intel the same driver is used so nothing should be done here. This is the reason why in your second test no NoDDC option is included 2) the NoDDC profile itself: the profile will use the current option set and add another option NoDDC. If called twice, two NoDDC options are added. libsax included NoDDC during enable3D() and NoDDC was called during init stage as well. The result two NoDDC options. fixed a package will be submitted today evening... there are more bugs to fix until then -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.
