Adding the patch doesn't fix that. If ionice is called without any command line parameters the variable 'set' is 0. Somewhere further down comes this: if (!set) { if (!pid && argv[optind]) pid = strtol(argv[optind], NULL, 10); ioprio = ioprio_get(IOPRIO_WHO_PROCESS, pid); This error also occurs in the patched version. I think I first checked the patched ionice against my modified 'suse.de-updatedb' script, which just calls ionice (without params) and checks its return status. Of course it told me that ionice had failed and it therefore wouldn't use.
