The error message given is "The client version you are using is too old. Please upgrade at http://pidgin.im". On the pidgin homepage, it says "ICQ is reporting errors in some locations which are generally fixed by upgrading to 2.5.5.". A sanitized logfile is attached. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Activate ICQ account in accounts menu ("Manage Accounts) 2. 3. Actual Results: Error message: "The client version you are using is too old. Please upgrade at http://pidgin.im" Expected Results: Connecting to ICQ. Was working until Friday, 06 March 2009. That is why I tried to search smallest possible change that will re-enable ICQ. After changing just a few bytes, ICQ works again in all tested pidgin and gaim versions. The duplicated bug is for SLED11 => it is not publicly accessible. (Not marking it as cross product duplicate to allow other people to find it.) You can find testing packages before the official online update here: http://pack.suse.cz/sbrabec/bug483744/pidgin/ You will have to click to "reenable account".
