Yes i have noticed that from the moment Bruno suggested me to use another session from the list and KDE Plasma Workspace worked. Changes should go into to /etc/sysconfig/windowmanager file. When /etc/sysconfig/windowmanager exists with some old setting, [e.g. kde4] while install/update, fillup will _NOT_ change it to the setting from template [it may refresh y2meta data only].
