[Bug 288542] New: offer console to run when preparing installation
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=288542 Summary: offer console to run when preparing installation Product: openSUSE 10.2 Version: Final Platform: i586 OS/Version: Other Status: NEW Severity: Enhancement Priority: P5 - None Component: Installation AssignedTo: kkeil@novell.com ReportedBy: bluedzins@wp.pl QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: --- I am about to install 10.2 again, I am about to set partitions, but I am not sure if the /hda1 should be /home or /hda2 -- the data already exist so it is serious. Console would come handy here -- simple mount, ls, and voila. Currently I have to shutdown computer, run some live distro, mount the disks, check it, restart suse installation. A lot of time. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

Console is available either pressing alt+F[number] keys
It is not. Tried with alt, win, it is not switching. Btw. if it would work, it would be good to see it in the screen -- I mean a tip "to run console please press....". --> reopening.
or passing the startshell=1 boot parameter.
No use -- I cannot predict what problems I get in advance. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
