It's likely a known issue with Conexant codec chip.
First of all, how can I get the kernel messages? I have found logs "/var/log/messages". I have tried next steps: 0. S0 -> OK 1. S3 -> OK 2. S3 -> no sound Then I collected messages from /var/log/messages. I don't see messages that you have wrote. Moreover, /var/log/messages contains no messages which start with "ALSA". But there are next messages: pulseaudio[1981]: [pulseaudio] module-alsa-card.c: Failed to find a working profile. pulseaudio[1981]: [pulseaudio] module.c: Failed to load module "module-alsa-card" (argument: "device_id="29" name="platform-thinkpad_acpi" card_name="alsa_card.platform-thinkpad_acpi" namereg_fail=false tsched=yes ignore_dB=no deferred_volume=yes card_properties="module-udev-detect.discovered=1""): initialization failed. These 2 messages are reported *every time*, when I start my laptop from S3 state (it doesn't matter there is sound after S3 or not). -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

You can compare with the output in comment 2.
Hm.. Comment 3 contains link to alsa-info.sh output after S3 and no sound. it seems, outputs before S3 and after are the same. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

Also, please try alsa-driver-unstable-kmp in OBS multimedia:audio:KMP repo.
I can't find this package. Only alsa-driver-unstable-kmp-1.0.25.20120125-1.1.src.rpm. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

The packages are being rebuilt, so it takes some time until published. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

Do you mean that the S3 problem is gone when you *add* the line model=auto, right? Testing isn't a way to proof that something doesn't contain errors/bugs. So, I have done 5 more tests and after each S3 the sound was available (no problem). I used stable driver. So, I think, the S3 problem is gone.
