[Bug 1210208] konsole slow in showing effect of key strokes (due to tearing?)

Intel Alderlake support wasn't ready yet on SP4 kernels, that's why you still needed this i915.force_probe=46aa option. I suggest to install a sle15-sp5 or Tumbleweed kernel and try again with that. Let me know whether this helps.
Is this about seeing if I no longer need the i915.force_probe=46aa option, or about the tearing problem?
Both. ;-)
Anyway, I'm willing to try the sle15-sp5 kernel (I'll be running it in a few months anyway), but I don't know how. If some writeup is available for that somewhere, I'd appreciate a pointer.
I'm not sure whether we have a writing for this. Basically just install kernel-default* packages from a SP5 RC installation media. You can loopmount a .iso file (as a hint). It may make sense to also update the kernel-firmware* packages (to get latest Intel GPU firmware). I see that you're in Martin Jambor's team. So I assumed that the skills would be available to update a kernel in this team. Don't hesitate to ask your team members or your boss if you're still lacking these. ;-)
I haven't seen the problem manifest anymore, but I don't know whether it's gone or not, maybe it's about coming back from sleep, maybe it's about a graphics process being started on or migrating to an efficiency-core, maybe it's about unhooking and rehooking to the dock. No clue. So I'll give it a few days to see if it reappears.
