Beagle doesn't use D-Bus; this is all handled within Tomboy itself. Presumably so that only one instance of Tomboy is running at any given time, it sends a message to the existing owner of the Tomboy D-Bus name.

Can you point me to the Beagle code that invokes Tomboy?
