[Bug 689420] New: nautilus crashes in absence of pixbuf loader for an icon
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=689420 https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=689420#c0 Summary: nautilus crashes in absence of pixbuf loader for an icon Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 11.4 Version: Final Platform: Other OS/Version: Other Status: NEW Severity: Major Priority: P5 - None Component: GNOME AssignedTo: bnc-team-gnome@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: ajorgensen@novell.com QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: --- Blocker: --- If you have a .desktop file that specifies an icon for which there is no pixbuf loader on the system nautilus will crash. For example if gdk-pixbuf-loader-rsvg is not present on a system and you have desktop file specifying an svg icon nautilus will crash. Add the pixbuf loader and it will stop crashing. An easy workaround for now would be to have nautilus require gdk-pixbuf-loader-rsvg, but this bug should be fixed in some more correct way. It probably also needs to be forwarded upstream. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

In my narrow case (smuxi) the .svg in question is in /usr/share/pixmaps/, while in another case (gnome-do) proper sized icons are in the usual /usr/share/icons/hicolor/ directory structures. In the smuxi case we get a crash, in the gnome-do case we get a generic icon instead. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

We are sorry that we do not always have the capacity to look at all reported bugs in a timely manner. There have been many changes in openSUSE since the time you reported the bug and your problem may have been fixed with some of the updates. It would help us a lot if you could test it on a current, supported openSUSE version. When you test it and it is still an issue, kindly reopen this bug and move it to the tested version of openSUSE. Truly yours. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
