https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=689300 https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=689300#c0 Summary: Emergency Network patch required for OpenSuse 11.4 Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 11.4 Version: Factory Platform: 32bit OS/Version: openSUSE 11.4 Status: NEW Severity: Critical Priority: P5 - None Component: KDE4 Applications AssignedTo: kde-maintainers@suse.de ReportedBy: Ganeshrnet@in.com QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: --- Blocker: --- User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 5.1; rv:2.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/4.0 My self Ganesh, from India, I switched to Linux from windows and using it for past one week.. But I noticed a great bug in OpenSuse 11.4 KDE, it's with Network Connections.... The Networking section is very poor in OpenSuse 11.4 KDE.. I used to connect my Computer to internet via Bluetooth in my Nokia 2690 mobile, I was successful connecting them in windows and in Ubuntu Linux 10.10.. But I'm fed up with OpenSuse 11.4 as it don't even installs the Bluetooth modem... I searched a lot and did not receive any appropriate solution for this problem.. I tried many things to connect the PC with internet using my mobile's Bluetooth Modem, Thus I'm reporting this problem.. I even checked 'enable' option in 'knetwork manager'.. Now after trying a lot, i found out the 'network connections' option.. When i go into the 'network connections' options, the mobile broadband tab is completely disabled.., just the vpn tab is showing up, rest all disabled... I think it's because no modem got installed even after I'd paired the mobile phone and my PC.... So if the same device can work fine in Ubuntu, then why cant OpenSuse 11.4 handle this protocol..?? In Ubuntu there use to be a "network signal" icon on top and we can pair a Bluetooth device and connect it to internet then and there by just giving the access point.. but why cant OpenSuse 11.4 KDE provide any such simple options? I even tried to install kppp and Blueman nothing works, they just detect the a Bluetooth device but not any Bluetooth modem!!! Please help us, its a kind request Please sir help me out of this situation and I think an urgent patch is required to plug this mistake... Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: No Bluetooth modem getting installed.. hence no access to internet using Bluetooth modem... Goto network connections' option.. When i go into the 'network connections' options, the mobile broadband tab is completely disabled.., just the vpn tab is showing up, rest all disabled... Actual Results: Goto network connections' option.. When i go into the 'network connections' options, the mobile broadband tab is completely disabled.., just the vpn tab is showing up, rest all disabled... Expected Results: It should allow us to configure a Bluetooth Modem in Mobile Broadband Tab... -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
