[Bug 730490] New: xenstored dead after boot, xen should be default boot option
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=730490 https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=730490#c0 Summary: xenstored dead after boot, xen should be default boot option Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 11.4 Version: Factory Platform: x86-64 OS/Version: openSUSE 11.4 Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: Xen AssignedTo: jdouglas@suse.com ReportedBy: florian.heigl@gmail.com QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: --- Blocker: --- User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64) AppleWebKit/535.1 (KHTML, like Gecko) Ubuntu/11.10 Chromium/14.0.835.202 Chrome/14.0.835.202 Safari/535.1 hi, i have done a minimal install of opensuse 11.4. then updated it using yast. then added python using yast. because it was not possible to install xen. then after adding python i enabled xen virtualization using yast. to do this I had to acknowedge a conflict against the minimun install thing my pulse went a little over 160 when I saw that gui components where installed although i had confirmed "yes this is a non gui system and i do NOT want the gui stuff installed". So yeah, now I have a gnome+cups install on my xen host. thanks for that. The installer told me i needed to reboot to enable Xen. After the reboot I enabled the xen boot entry to be default. (i think thats a bug) After the reboot I also found that xl info / xm info both didnt work. I have to manually kill xenstored and start it again after a reboot. A /etc/init.d/xencommons restart has no effect, it seems it can only stop a non-hung xenstored. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. 2. 3. i'm just reporting this so you're aware and not delivering broken xen if it's enabled after a minimum install. I guess I ill-advised to try using OpenSUSE for this, SLES would have been a more suitable choice for a minimal-embedded-style xen system. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

Did you want to install the graphical tools (like virt-manager)? Could you list what versions of the Xen RPMs you now have installed? -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
