If I open a terminal and become super-user and then (for example) open a file as follows: kwrite /etc/X11/xdm/Xaccess The file opens and I can edit it and save it. I get the following feedback on launch: kdeinit4: preparing to launch /usr/lib/kdeinit4_klauncher.so kdeinit4: Communication error with launcher. Exiting! The program seems to open fine however.
