http://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=588183 http://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=588183#c0 Summary: After updating the system when attempting to format and encrypt a disk I receive an error 3034. Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 11.2 Version: Final Platform: i686 OS/Version: openSUSE 11.2 Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: Other AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: hanty2000@gmail.com QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: --- Blocker: --- User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; ru; rv:1.9.2.0) Gecko/20100115 SUSE/3.6.0-1.2 Firefox/3.6 The situation in general is as follows: 1) when installing opensuse 11.2 has 3 hdd hdd1 - sda1 - 7TB (encrypted xfs) hdd2 - sdb1 - 500GB (system xfs) hdd3 - sdc1 - 500GB (backup xfs) works well 2) but, during the upgrade, changing the disk order! At: hdd1 - sda1 - 500GB (backup xfs) hdd2 - sdb1 - 500GB (system xfs) hdd3 - sdc1 - 7TB (encrypted xfs) 3) killed my brain while trying to edit fstab is there such a file crypttab, in which, regardless of fstab, the device (in this case, hdd) as possible to call anywhere! Ie for my case hdd3 - sdc1 became hdd3 - sda1! was enough to attend crypttab line: cr_sda1 / dev/disk/by-id/scsi-hdd3-part1 none none 4) in view of the above when trying to format hdd1 - sda1 - 500GB and make it fly in cryptic error 3034 5) issue resolved manually editing the fstab file and crypttab, which prescribes the actual names of the hdd I hope someone this information will be interesting. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Install from scratch openSUSE 11.2 (have more than 2 HDD) 2.6.31-5 Example: sda1 - HDD1 sda2 - HDD2 sda3 - HDD3 one of them must be encrypt (non system) 2. Do upgrade - zypper dup 3. Be sure that names of HDD is changed Yast->Partitioning sda1 - HDD3 sda2 - HDD2 sda3 - HDD1 4. Try to format the hard drive with encryption (for example sda1 - HDD3) Actual Results: After that I had error 3034. Expected Results: Do not change device names after upgrading. Fixing this is beyond the scope of openSUSE. To analyse the 3034 error I need the corresponding YaST logs, see http://en.opensuse.org/Bugs/YaST. -- Configure bugmail: http://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
