[Bug 1174495] New: Vidcutter does not edit the outputfile
http://bugzilla.opensuse.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1174495 Bug ID: 1174495 Summary: Vidcutter does not edit the outputfile Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE Tumbleweed Version: Current Hardware: x86-64 OS: Other Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: Other Assignee: screening-team-bugs@suse.de Reporter: stakanov@freenet.de QA Contact: qa-bugs@suse.de Found By: --- Blocker: --- Vidcutter does, with the current edition, produce an output file that is twice the size of the m2t (as m2t edit) and does contain all cut out selections, so the file is simply doubled in size but not edited. The program is currently worthless. The program runs normally and does not through any error. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.

The program does not cut but produces a clone (with supplemental volume) of the original file. e.g. Taking a 3 GB file and cutting and producing an output of the first 10 minutes only: produces a clone of the original file that is now 3.3 GB. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.

I join the txt file with the verbose output of vidcutter trying to do a 6 part cut file of a movie. The reason it did not work on my system before was the need for a tmp file that on a 250GB partition for root was insufficient. I needed to attribute a 2 TB raid partition as /tmp. I then was able to create the output, in this case also from a project file. The output file is uncut, that is, unexpectedly, has all the ads and cut out parts inside, it seems that only the first cut (from the beginning to the start point of the first period was done correctly. The output file went from 3 GB to 7.7 GB, which not only is clearly excessive but also nonsense, as there should have been a reduction in size. No conversion from m2t files to any format was performed so the output file is really m2t as it seems. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.

If you do convert the m2t with the help of handbrake, cutting and editing currently works on the resulting m4v output file. The size of the output file is correct, the process is not interrupted. So the problem currently is limited to m2t files. Did put this minor because user can install handbrake. But the user may not know what is happening if he does not read this. So it is a bug as long as m2t files are officially in the range of vidcutter. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.
