Also checked on Krecord and Audacity. Checked close to every possible Combination of Kmix channels. Alsa Mixer shows the same Problem Tried to modify /etc/modprobe.d/sound according to http://en.opensuse.org/SDB:Intel-HDA_sound_problems does not help - headphone channel in Kmix/alsamixer cannot be regulated checked with Xine/Gstreamer Backend in KDE4 Systemsettings - no change The Headset works mechanically - it works in another Opensuse 11.1 (different soundcard) as well as in Windows XP (same PC) The strange thing is if i boost the Mic (and Mic Boost) Channel in Kmix - the I hear the the recorded sounds as clear (and very strong ) echo in my headphones - but no application is getting any recorded sound. This contains detailed sound-hardware information. Also, you can try alsa-driver-kmp on OBS multimedia:audio:KMP repo to upgrade to the latest alsa-driver snapshot http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/multimedia:/audio:/KMP/ If you use the latest driver above, it'd be better to update alsa.rpm and libasound2.rpm either from FACTORY or OBS multimedia:audio repo, too. The new driver has another modularization style, and alsasound init script on 11.1-GM may be problematic. http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/multimedia:/audio/ -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

The echo is likely because you raise/unmute "Mic Playback Volume" (or Front Mic...) This is the analog loopback and has nothing to do with the recording. The recording level is determined only by "Capture Volume", "Capture Switch", "*Mic Boost" (and "Digital Capture Volume" depending on the PCM device). Again, make sure that you choose the right input source. It's possible that "Line" corresponds to the mic, too. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
