The Broadcom Corporation BCM4312 802.11b/g LAN not starting after installation.
You will have to proceed according the instructions [1]. Thanks to Ulrich for providing the details. Andras, could you try and post the output of "hwinfo --wlan" once you succeed to install the firmware ? Usually, there's a bunch of state changes, and in case of a real failure, this ends with a deactivation of the device. Well... I am suffering from the "BCM4312 802.11b/g LAN does not start aftrer install", reason why I posted here, even though the firmware seems to be loaded. I can investigate further the issue, if you indicate me what info/checks you need. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

The same adapter [1] is working for me in 11.4 [0]. From the messages [2] can be seen that the adapter deauthenticated because of the timeout. It would be good to try and connect to other AP. But log of the wpa_supplicant [3] shows error messages from other wlan adapter (00:25:b3:70:8a:d8). It would be good to try and configure only 1 wlan card at the same time. Once they are working well maybe we can put them to work together. good to try and connect to other AP. But log of the wpa_supplicant [3] shows error messages from other wlan adapter (00:25:b3:70:8a:d8).
What surprises me is that I have only one wlan adapter (this is a netbook). But there is another thing surprising. This adapter does not work anymore, even under Win7 (I have a dualboot setup). So, either I'm starting to have HW problems that are not related to oS11.4 but accidentally arose at the same time as I installed oS11.4, either the firmware upload modified some settings to the hardware that also impact windoze. At least here in linux my adapter sees networks, whereas under win7 it sees nothing and relates it is working correctly. BTW, it is not an AP problem, as I can succesfully connect to it from another cputer. Tomorrow I will try to find a non protected network in order to try to connect to. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
